Duties Corresponding with my Learning Goals
My original learning goals were to gain knowledge about sales through communication with potential and returning clients, to get an idea of the type of work environment and culture that I want to see when I graduate, and to gain an understanding of effective goal-setting techniques. I believe that all of my learning goals were achieved throughout my internship experience. I gained knowledges about sales by watching my supervisor Honesty interact with clients. I was also able to meet them personally.I was able to get an idea of the type of work environment due to the office hours I completed. I got to interact with other employees and learn about their jobs and how they interact with each other and help one another on a daily basis. I also gained an understanding of effective goal-setting when given I was given lists of tasks to accomplish and deadlines.
1. Office Days
- Put together summer series tickets for each client by collecting tickets from the box office and placing them in corresponding envelopes to match the concert and client
- Ensure that each client is getting the correct tickets with the correct seats they requested
- Ensure each client gets the same VIP parking passes for each concert
- Place each of the client's concert envelopes into a Live Nation folder, print out a mailing tag, and set them out for UPS to ship
- File paperwork/emails/payment receipts for each client in their appropriate folder
- File paperwork for each specific concert in their appropriate folder
- Reactivate and work on the Premium Seat Sales Facebook and Twitter accounts
- Meet with clients with Honesty to give them tickets and collect money
2. Concert Days
- Collect corresponding VIP wristbands for specific concert and bring them to VIP Club
- Clean and set up VIP Club by moving chairs, opening umbrellas, watering flowers, putting out catering signs, setting up cornhole boards, setting up for parties, putting up sponsor (Landshark) equipment, adding additional decorations.
- Complete box manifest which is a paper that lists each VIP box and how many seats there should be in each box, go to boxes and make sure that each one has the correct amount of seats, if not move chairs around, if there are no chairs available then you must inform supervisor about each incorrect box
- Put up fliers
- Sell upgrades for certain concerts by standing at the main gate and persuading people into buying VIP box or club seats
- Filling in for employees by working at the wristband stations
- Meeting clients
- Update Facebook/Twitter account before and during each concert
